So Long, Farewell...

...auf Wiedersehen, good night....sorry. I'm a little obsessed with musicals. This afternoon I will begin my journey home for the summer. I was starting to think I might have to stay until Sunday because the credit card that I need to rent the car wasn't here until yesterday evening. Luckily it arrived in the nick of time so I will be on my way in a few hours! But before I left I had so say some very sad goodbyes.

Thursday night Jenn and I went out to dinner to a little hole in the wall diner. It was delicious! I got an omelet and delicious hash browns! Then we went to cupcake station before we parted ways.

Friday morning was commissioning where the seniors officially became Navy and Marine Corps officers. It was a touching ceremony but I am a bit freaked out that I will be up there on stage in 3 short years. 


After the ceremony we had one last lunch in Bursley dining hall.


See you in August!
Then it was off to say bye to Maggie.

I've met some amazing people here at the U of M. Luckily, I have 3 more years with most of them. 


Good thing I have people to see at home!


Hard to believe this was more than a year and a half ago.

Now for a quick stop at a bbq and I'm ready to hit the road!

Super Tuesday

Yes, I know it's Wednesday, but I went to bed at 9 last night (I'm a grandma) and all the states hadn't reported their winners. If you don't know what Super Tuesday is, its the day where there are the most primaries for the primary election. To win the Republican nomination a candidate must get 1,144 delegates and over 400 of them were at stake yesterday. So at the end of the night last night Romney had won Arkansas, Idaho, Virginia, Ohio, Massachusetts (his home state) and Vermont. Santorum won North Dakota, Tennessee and Oklahoma, Gingrich won his home state or Georgia and Ron Paul didn't win anything. Since these results were so divided it really didn't lead the Republicans any closer to choosing a nominee. Romney gives his victory speech in Boston. But that is all very technical. Even though Santorum has won a few states, to me it seems HIGHLY likely that Romney will win the nomination. For another candidate to win, they would have to start domintat...

Whining While Working Out

I know I haven't blogged in a while...I do think about it a lot but I haven't had anything exciting to say! I'm still just babysitting and working out. But working out is the key part...I have had some REALLY hard workouts. Sunday (mother's day) I went out intending to run for 70 minutes and by about 45 I thought I was going to die. I mean not really die but I thought about asking someone if I could borrow their phone so I could get a ride home. It. was. awful. I mean I guess this is true...but I was pathetic. Then Monday I reluctantly put on my running shoes but then I looked outside and it was raining and I just decided to do laundry instead. Tuesday I had an okay 40 minutes on the elliptical while watching Sex and the City (thanks for lending it to me Sara!). I also visited my aunt, uncle and 2 cousins so it was a nice day.
